IMEE Made/ Scanning

About

Louis Lim — IMEE Made

I'm a mechanical engineer with a welding background, which means I don't just trace a scan into a mesh and call it done — I understand how a part actually gets made, and I build files that reflect that. Before I ever pointed a scanner at anything, I was restoring, modifying, and fabricating cars myself, which is where the problem this service solves actually found me: hunting for a discontinued part that simply doesn't exist anymore, and realizing the only way to get it was to make the file myself.

That's what led me to 3D scanning — starting with an EINSTAR 2 handheld scanner and projects like scanning a Honda Beat bumper to design and 3D print a custom reverse light housing. I started offering that as a service because I kept running into other people with the exact same problem: a broken or missing part with no file, and no easy way to get one made.

I document a lot of this hands-on work on the IMEE Made YouTube channel — car mods, fabrication, and full builds like an EV conversion in progress. If you want to see the kind of work behind the files I deliver, that's the place to look.
